Welcome to Nutrition Services!

Our mission is to create and maintain a healthy learning environment for all students by providing nutritious, chef-designed, globally inspired meals in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

 

COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION

We are pleased to inform you that Modesto City School District will begin participation in a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called, Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2018-19 school year.

Starting August 13, 2018, students at the following schools will be offered a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE:

Elementary Schools:

Beard, Bret Harte, Burbank, El Vista, Enslen, Everett, Fairview, Franklin, Fremont, Garrison, Kirschen, Lakewood, Marshall, Martone, Muir, Robertson Road, Rose Avenue, Shackelford, Sonoma, Tuolumne, Wilson, Orville Wright.

Junior High Schools:

Hanshaw, Mark Twain, La Loma, Roosevelt

High Schools:

Davis, Downey, Elliott, Johansen, Modesto

We request all parents speak with their children to encourage them to eat school breakfast and lunch every day.  The District looks forward to serving nutritious, well-balanced meals to your children all year long. 

 

What does this mean for you and your child(ren) attending a school listed above?

All students enrolled at schools listed above are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge to your household each day of the 2018-2019 school year.

No further action is required of you.  Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

NUTRITION SERVICES

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
